The Machine
The short YouTube video our professor had us watch was quite entertaining. What I liked most about the video is how it showed how the internet has changed our way of gathering information, news and anything else we are trying to find more about. It went into some detail about how people use html and how easy it is to manipulate the information you are trying to put out there for people to see and read. Showing that just about anyone, after maybe a few lessons, could/can post their views onto a website.

I thought the video was quite entertaining as well. The access we have to information is endless and makes me think about how fast it has evolved. Think about the first computers we used in grade school and compare them to what we have access to now. Pretty crazy if you ask me. Great points Ty!
ReplyDeleteI agree the video was entertaining and gave us something to think about. It has really evolved since when we were younger. It also gives us something to think about in our future and how much more evolved it will be. It keeps changing and everything that it talked about in the video will be changing... privacy will be a big one.
ReplyDeleteI also thought it was kind of crazy how just about anyone can change or manipulate different internet pages. Being that many careers now use the internet for a main source of research for projects it will run a bigger risk of providing customers with factual information. If we think things have changed since we were in grade school to now just think how things will be when we are out of college for two or three years.
ReplyDeleteThe Machine Is Us, absolutely. But that means it's up to us to "control" the ethics of its growth. That's something no computer can do.
ReplyDeleteIt also means the practice of effective PR isn't going to be as easy as sending out a news release and calling it a day!
Good post.
